NGA Virtual Gas System Engineering Design Review, May 2020

NGA's Gas System Engineering Design Review

May 26 & May 28, 2020

Virtual Session Series Registration Is Now Open

The Northeast Gas Association (NGA) is pleased to offer a new virtual training program for gas engineers and management personnel. A two-day virtual training program covering gas system engineering design review.

NGA, drawing upon the expertise and support of membership and the Blacksmith Group, has developed an Engineering Design Review Guideline (EDR). The Guideline incorporates a holistic approach to maximize safety assurance of the design review process and reduce overall risk from design, construction, modifying and commissioning of pipeline assets. The EDR Process is strengthened through incorporation of key Pipeline Safety Management System (PSMS) elements including:

  • Leadership
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Risk Management
  • Operational Controls/ Management of Change
  • Safety Assurance
  • Competency, Awareness & Training
  • Continuous Improvement, including incident investigation

Participate in this Engineering Design Review Workshop Series to discuss and learn this unique approach to safety assurance and risk mitigation through a properly executed engineering design review process.

Topics:

The following topic areas will be covered:
  • 1. Review of Industry Over-Pressurization Incidents Leading to NTSB Recommendations
  • 2. Critical Principles and Elements of The Design Review Process
  • 3. Executing a Design Review Process from Initial Design through Commissioning Assets
  • 4. Design Review Checklists Focused on Gas Distribution Construction

When:

This virtual learning experience incorporates two day sessions on Tuesday, May 26 and Thursday, May 28 from 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM EST.
